Independence Park Breakwater Photo
One of the lovely focal points featured by local photographers is the Independence Park breakwater. This Independence Park Breakwater photo was taken on an overcast day. One cannot tell if it is early morning or late in the day by the lighting. This gives it a rather timeless quality, a sense of perpetual place. The mood is quiet yet pensive, as if something was about to happen.
This stone breakwater is a barrier created much the way a stone wall is created. Only the rocks are much larger. This structure is built so that it projects out into Beverly Harbor to protect the harbor from the force of the waves rolling in from the Atlantic Ocean.
Beverly has other lovely beaches, as well. Including Lynch Park, Dane Street Beach and Tuck’s Point. For more information visit the Beverly Recreation Department.
